How To Make Different Sed in washing- Textile Farm

Today, I will write a few things about the change in the message of SED.

Different technicians say, Sed is 18-20 / 19-20, but is it true in textile language?


            The color shed chang / stain is measured with grayscale, and the highest and the lowest readings are - 1-5, so 18/19-20.

Most of the wash/dyeing technician says the color difference to the standard is like- 18-20/19-20, to measure the color change of the outcome verses to the standard. But where color changing is actually measured using gray scale where no 19-20/18-20 remaining there. there is only remaining 4-5/ 5, or like 4 / 3-4 ... etc.  



There are two different type of gray scales in the market, one is  Color changing , another one is  Color staining.

Standards: -  AATCC standard and ISO/SDC-UK standard. 

Most of the major larger buyer recommends : AATCC standard gray scale for there test related work. 

Anyway, we should understand which one is correct and which one we should use to say the color stage unit. 




Once I have also found some of the wash technician and lab technician wrote to me via email that the color fastness to Rubbing is : 2.3 of a garment. I wondered!! haha, its funny, how could they write it to me... they are from a buying house and they should know the standards. it should be 2-3. (viewers, please check the gray scale above) there is no 2.3!!

Lycra fiber is one of the most important for the modern development of stretch fabric. It’s hi comfortable , stretch ability nice fitting and extra freedom to movement satisfaction with standard quality. But it is not so easy to handle these kinds if sensitive fabric without tacking any extra special care. According to my knowledge and experience, in maximum time we have face in stretch fabric huge amount of Lycra braking in washed garments. Whatever if problem occurring not only through wash. There is a chance in every stage of manufacturing process cutting or finishing to can be happen.

There is a chance in every stage of manufacturing process cutting or finishing to can be happen. There is a lot of factor are involve behind of lycra braking. By the following preventive monitoring in every step of our manufacturing process we can get improvement all over the standard level and will be able to overcome those kinds of unwanted issues.  Use of wrong size needle: Wrong size , wrong diameter and defective needle can occur Lycra damage of garments. So, Needle size and quality is the most important component to control lycra braking of garments in sewing stage. Needle must be uses with lower number of size including with ball point and thin diameter.  Changing needle timely basis: Needle have limit of time to work like others equipment of metal. Sharpness and bent needle can be high cause of huge amount of lycra braking. So, need to change needle timely basis for every process twice a day to avoid lycra braking which are because of lycra braking. Needle. Presser feet, feet dog, and needle bar, needle plate everything need to adjust.  Poor handling by operator:  Poor operating system by the operator can be cause of lycra braking and fullness of garments.  High density of bar tack stitch: If use high density if SPL in bar tack. In that cause of bar tacking area can occurring yarn cut and yarn pulling due to additional needle stamping in a same area. So, it also high cause of lycra braking.  Used improper ratio of chemical: Proper ratio of the chemical one of the most important elements of stretch for wash. Essential to maintain chemical ratio exactly batch to batch, wrong ratio of chemical also can be cause of huge amount lycra braking. So, during wash exactly follow of ratio, water and chemical and others elements. Any of discrepancy of chemical ratio can be occur of lycra braking.  Temperature and wash time: Every fabric has properties to absorb limited amount of temperature. So, we have more concern about setting temperature and wash time during wash goods.  Use gas dryer instead of steam dryer: In gas dryer not possinle to conteol temperature exactly also temperature comes up and down. When temperature comes to up the require temperature in that case will occur lycra braking. But in stem dryer temperature is constant, no ups and down is there as well as no more lycra braking occurs during wash the garments.  Not hang out properly during curing: If have crinkle on garments . and crinkle need to fixed through woven curing machine. In that case hanging loops area can come lycra braking. In this situation need to hang out properly with clipping at waist band.  Getting excessive force in during wash on process, like pocket bag: If pocket bag and related opening process not closed with the false tack then during wash water and other force come in to pocket bag and not come out with the same force. In this situation water force going to hit at the pocket bag joining area, as result lycra braking occurring in that area. So, need to use tack to close the opening area.  Wash without closing zipper opening Area: If zipper keeps open during wash then coming extra amount of force on zipper attaching especially fly opening area during wash and drying.

Lycra Breakage Cause and Treatment.  Lycra fiber is one of the most important for the modern development of stretch fabric. It’s hi comfortable , stretch ability nice fitting and extra freedom to movement satisfaction with standard quality. But it is not so easy to handle these kinds if sensitive fabric without tacking any extra special care. According to my knowledge and experience, in maximum time we have face in stretch fabric huge amount of Lycra braking in washed garments. Whatever if problem occurring not only through wash. There is a chance in every stage of manufacturing process cutting or finishing to can be happen. There is a lot of factor are involve behind of lycra braking. By the following preventive monitoring in every step of our manufacturing process we can get improvement all over the standard level and will be able to overcome those kinds of unwanted issues.  Use of wrong size needle: Wrong size , wrong diameter and defective needle can occur Lycra damage of garments. So, Needle size and quality is the most important component to control lycra braking of garments in sewing stage. Needle must be uses with lower number of size including with ball point and thin diameter.  Changing needle timely basis: Needle have limit of time to work like others equipment of metal. Sharpness and bent needle can be high cause of huge amount of lycra braking. So, need to change needle timely basis for every process twice a day to avoid lycra braking which are because of lycra braking. Needle. Presser feet, feet dog, and needle bar, needle plate everything need to adjust.  Poor handling by operator:  Poor operating system by the operator can be cause of lycra braking and fullness of garments.  High density of bar tack stitch: If use high density if SPL in bar tack. In that cause of bar tacking area can occurring yarn cut and yarn pulling due to additional needle stamping in a same area. So, it also high cause of lycra braking.  Used improper ratio of chemical: Proper ratio of the chemical one of the most important elements of stretch for wash. Essential to maintain chemical ratio exactly batch to batch, wrong ratio of chemical also can be cause of huge amount lycra braking. So, during wash exactly follow of ratio, water and chemical and others elements. Any of discrepancy of chemical ratio can be occur of lycra braking.  Temperature and wash time: Every fabric has properties to absorb limited amount of temperature. So, we have more concern about setting temperature and wash time during wash goods.  Use gas dryer instead of steam dryer: In gas dryer not possinle to conteol temperature exactly also temperature comes up and down. When temperature comes to up the require temperature in that case will occur lycra braking. But in stem dryer temperature is constant, no ups and down is there as well as no more lycra braking occurs during wash the garments.  Not hang out properly during curing: If have crinkle on garments . and crinkle need to fixed through woven curing machine. In that case hanging loops area can come lycra braking. In this situation need to hang out properly with clipping at waist band.  Getting excessive force in during wash on process, like pocket bag: If pocket bag and related opening process not closed with the false tack then during wash water and other force come in to pocket bag and not come out with the same force. In this situation water force going to hit at the pocket bag joining area, as result lycra braking occurring in that area. So, need to use tack to close the opening area.  Wash without closing zipper opening Area: If zipper keeps open during wash then coming extra amount of force on zipper attaching especially fly opening area during wash and drying.
